Damn, this Domi talk is giving me some wave of nostalgia. Drouin - Domi - Gallagher could try to recreate some of the magic that Max and Jo had with Shawzy in 18-19. This would be so great.

I'd gladly have Max back if we miss out on better options.

Problem is that Max isn't the center we need. He can't play defense and can't win draws (which is what we need)

Wish KK and his family the best, such a hard thing to go through (I've been in a situation like KK, it's terrible).

Random thought, while the Olympics are going on Cole Caufield and Alexander Romanov could play for Laval.

Romanov might not even get that option though, because if he has a good first half of the season he might very well be one of the top 7 or 8 Russian D out there.

Caufield would need to have a ridiculous season to make team USA, but then again, IMO he is our best offensive player…

It likely won’t happen and they’ll just have a 3 week break, but they could play for the Rocket. Another thing going against this is that Laval is on the road for most of February, but if they’re both in Montréal maybe Caufield & Romanov could play a back-to-back on the 11th and 12th against Syracuse in Laval to keep the rust off.

Isn't the Russian team usually 75% of KHL players. I don't think Romanov gets in over them, if it was just NHL players he would have a legit shot though

They usually have a handful of KHL players. So yeah, Romanov would have to have a really good season to get on the team.

The Canadiens now have the best and worst power-play performers on their roster, over the past three seasons, in terms of Power-Play goals above replacement.

1st- Mike Hoffman
1075th - Jesperi Kotkaniemi

Is this about goals scored by the player, or the entire team?

Predicting the NHL numbers that the players who will be playing in their first Montréal Canadiens training camp will be wearing (based solely upon numbers they have previously worn):

6 - Mattias Norlinder (Frölunda HC, MODO Hockey, World Juniors)
13 - Cédric Paquette*
20 - Chris Wideman*
21 - Kaiden Guhle (World Juniors)
24 - Joël Teasdale (Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, Rouyn-Noranda Huskies)
39 - Jean-Sébastien Dea (Pittsburgh Penguins)
47 - Louis Belpedio (Minnesota Wild)
54 - Corey Schueneman (Calgary Flames Development Camp)
59 - Gianni Fairbrother (Rookie Tournament)
68 - Mike Hoffman*
83 - Rafaël Harvey-Pinard (Vegas Golden Knights Development Camp)
85 - Mathieu Perreault*
88 - Cameron Hillis (Rookie Tournament)
89 - Arsen Khisamutdinov (Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk)
91 - Jan Myšák (HC Litvinov)

* - This number is already confirmed by the team.

I’m least sure about Schueneman and RHP, since those numbers were likely assigned to them, but any of their other numbers they’ve worn aren’t available. (6 & 9 for Schueneman and 11 & 77 for Harvey-Pinard)

Also, Teasdale was 38 in development camp, 86 in the rookie tournament, and 24 in the QMJHL. So he could be any of those 3, but I’m guessing that he takes 24 now that Danault is gone.

There is also the possibility that the habs don’t make #6 available because Weber isn’t officially retired, I’m which case I have no idea what Norlinder’s number would be.

Primeau over Poehling, Leskinen and McNiven probably lower but looks good, I don’t exactly follow all our prospects too

Because he won’t participate in Habs camps
