I don’t think Seattle takes Allen. I would believe he would be taken, but when you look at the other goalies available, you may see why Jake Allen doesn’t get taken. When you consider Arizona will lose one of Kuemper or Hill, and Vancouver may lost Holtby, along with there being other interesting goalies available for the expansion draft, I see Seattle opting to take the big, bruising defender in Edmundson. And if they don’t see him in their lineup, they can easily trade him, most likely for a 3rd round pick, or MAYBE a late 2nd (when you consider his rights were worth a 4th or 5th. I do think that we will have to convince Seattle to not take Allen though, but it will most likely cost us just a mid-round pick

That is too much to give up for PLD but the idea of waiting to next season makes the most sense because of the quarantine issues. Perhaps as well the gap may not be as wide between KK and PLD so we may not need to include a ton of extra pieces or we may not end up making the trade at all.
