Johnson doesn’t want to leave, and he has a NMC and I don’t think he will until his contract expires. So unfortunately I think Graves still have to go

I think that it’s fine if Graves goes to Seattle, and I think Sakic is planning on it, and if Donskoi has to go if could just get traded.
Jenner could be a good pickup, but I would want to get rid of compher in that deal, because Newhook will be ready soon enough and I feel he will step into the NHL as a top 9 player.

I love how you did nothing to improve their only weakness: goaltending

It’s so weak yet every leaf fan has tried to swap
      Grubauer for Freddie this offseason.

What do you want me to do? Overpay Freddy Anderson?

      Nope

Don’t really see goaltending as a weakness. A healthy Gru and Pavel is solid.

There is also a man named david rittich, not sure if you heard of him but he seems kind of good

Nice job with the contracts to make capspace literally ZERO. tears of joy

Some pretty optimistic contracts here btw.

And lastly, there is no need to trade anything of value, let alone Kaut, to entice Seattle to pick Donskoi. They'll have their choice of Graves/Donskoi/Compher/Jost/Francouz/Saad(ufa) and whoever they take is hardly going to be an issue the way this team is set up.

It's a shame that the 2021 goaltender UFA crop is really weak. It gives us few (if any) legitimate alternatives to Grubauer, and also strengthens Grubauer's bargaining position given the lack of competition. By contrast the 2020 offseason saw a lot of decent goalies change places, such as Lehner and Markstrom.

Lehner never hit market so that was never an options but one the avs would have been smart yo connect on. Markstrom then trading grubi would have solidified it but then avs can’t afford their current roster and probably can’t afford both toews and saad without moving someone like graves.

They came out before the offseason begun and says they believe in the tandem, which is fine but if they faulter I don’t see them hesitating to look at the trade market

Grubi has look good and healthy to start the season
