Why would the Devils trade Sharganovich?

I think Palmieri's a good fit. Kind of an all-purpose forward. Rentals aren't my favorite thing, but I think he'd be a really good addition.

I suggested trading a 6th defenseman for a 4C. I even added a second. Not many if any 4th line centers get a second alone. You said I was high and that I was starting a panic, I think the trade is pretty fair. Blueger isn’t Crosby maybe you should loosen up a bit, it was just a suggestion.

no he isn't Crosby, but you are talking about weakening a team in the middle of the playoff hunt down the middle who have no replacements at center for a guy who struggles to even crack TOR lineup moving him to a team with 8 legitamate defensemen not including ceci. Dumo, Letang, Marino, MP, Matheson, POJ, Riikola, There are 7 guys right there better than Dermott.

3 of those are hurt rn and 2 are out long term. 1 is also a rookie whose played like 1 NHL game. I thought he would be useful in a shortened season. Dermott played like 17 min a game last year, and every game this year. Again just a thought, no need to overreact on a minor trade. You could have easily said the pens don’t really have anyone else to play 4C.

That doesn’t mean anything. He is a rental. After this trade the pens are protecting McCann as the 7th fwd and Letang, Dumo, MP are still protected as the dmen. Therefore, Dermott is left exposed and would be the most enticing piece for Seattle to take. Making him a rental

It’s not just that Blueger is our 4th C. He is likely our 3 C going forward. The pens don’t have a replacement for him. He is likely our 7th protected forward behind Crosby, Malkin, Guentzel, Zucker, Kapanen, and Rust.

If you were to propose something small like ZAR for Dermott or Sceviour for Dermott might be more likely for the pens to accept. The leafs don’t need long term help at forward and pens don’t need long term help on defense.

I believe they will. Being that Poulin and possibly Legare should be ready next year and O’Conner should make his debut sometime this year, he is expendable...unless Zucker craps the bed totally this year. Then Zucker might be exposed. Pens have no nhl calibre centers outside of Crosby, Malkin, Blueger, Jankowski, and Angello. And none really in the pipeline that are close to coming up, whereas they have a plethora of wingers that are close or ready and just injured/taxi squad.
