Are you serious? What exactly are the Oilers getting here? A 3C that didn't work here before, a fringe starter, a goofball in Deangelo, 2 guys who haven't proven anything in the NHL and picks? Not a chance.

Rangers don't have a number 1 D so there's no deal to be made.

100% ... its a great package of prospects, but if youre trading for McDavid, at least one (if not more) proven NHL (high level) players need to be added.

they do have a #1D (at least top pairing now, will be a #1D if not already). Fox is elite. They could offer him.

I feel like if you put this team up against the current Oilers, it'd be a deadlock for eternity. Congrats on creating the Oilers of the East!

I think any team trading for McDavid has to put together a trade package that is intolerable to both the front office and fans alike. It has to hurt to be fair value.

Not to mention it would just destroy the core of any team. It would be hard to build around him to compete by the time his contract is up.

Use Carolina for example, it would have to be something like Aho, Svechnikov, Pesce + Completely unrealistic haha

it means this is a massive trade package unheard of in the history of the NHL. it obviously won't happen but the idea that it isn't enough is ridiculous.
