Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

1. Turris cannot handle the defensive responsibilities of a Centre, he is getting his head kicked in. However, he can score. If players like Maroon, Rattie, Kassian and Archibald warrant chances with McDavid, why can't Turris? A guy who actually has a history of scoring in the league.
2. Neal also is a scorer, put him on a scoring line.
3. Kahun is skilled, but he defers too much to his childhood buddy, he should move up to 1LW and see if he clicks with CMD
4. Nuge is the 3rd best Centre in this team, put him with JP who is a baby mountain and will help make the 3rd line a force to be reckoned with.
5. Give Quine a shot as 3LW. He is a force on the forecheck and is defensively responsible. Give him a chance, since he hasn't gotten one yet, put him in a position to succeed and see if he does. He should be a great fit.
6. Haas is a superior option as a 4C, he can skate and is defensively responsible like Nygard and Archibald. This line won't bled chances against and are a threat to score.
7. The D is a mess, Bouchard needs some chances, he is the best puck-mover on this roster and he even played in Pro games early in the year. What is the worst that could happen that hasn't already happened? KRusty can't move the puck at all and he is fading fast as an NHL Dman.
8. Kassian is a shadow of the 2019 version of himself. He is a defensive liability, doesn't hit any more and the scoring touch he showed in 2019 (across 2 seasons) has completely disappeared. He is a $3.2 million dud. He needs to be bought out or traded next year.

He will be moved in vs Ottawa. Probably not a good choice vs TML, let him shake the cobwebs out first against a lesser opponent.

Yes he is still not back in game shape after a bout with Covid. None of this matters today, the line up is already set. But long-term this would be the best configuration for sustained success.

Haas won’t be in till ottawa. Turris killed all plays he was involved in by doing absolutely nothing with the puck he damn sure doesn’t need to go on the top line. They tried nuge at 3 C before. They spread everybody out and absolutely nobody scored.

You are missing the point regatding Turris, he doesn't have to do much on 97's line, just finish. What did 27 goal scorer Maroon do?

Nuge didn't have wingers when he last played 3C. JP is a force out there now. So you have a driver on the top 3 lines + a play-maker = a very good top 9.

Add a competent 4th line = winning record. Simple.
