Trades for the boys

Created by: allgoaliesaretrash
Team: 2020-21 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 2, 2021
Published: Feb. 2, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Just a few smaller trades to improve around the edges. Feels like Dermott will request a trade if he isn't involved more, and Freidge said Pitt has asked about his availability. Namestnikov has played up and down lines ups on good and bad teams, I like his upside in the Leafs middle six.

Values might be off, picks where required.

Detroit declines, We're not trading Namestnikov after giving him a 2 year deal. he's a hometown kid and he's going absolutely nowhere. he's pretty much our Kerfoot he can play basically up and down the lineup.

The only “king of the North” was kawhi and he left in 2019.

I think Detroit would rather hold onto Namestnikov until at least next offseason since we just signed him. Value looks fair though.

I totally agree here, I think this is a downgrade for TOR.
Vesey is a much better player than people give him credit for being.

If you're going to have a middle 6 guy have one that's big and fast.

That's fair. I'd never read that Namestnikov's journey brought him through Michigan as a young man, that's very cool. I think it's great contract for a rebuilding team, fills lots of holes.

Yup he's Slava Kozlov's nephew, he was born in Russia but grew up in metro Detroit and grew up a diehard Red Wings fan. of course why not when uncle Slava Kozlov was playing with them. same thing with John Merrill.
