I honestly think Habs keep Danault over Tatar, but bringing back Eller would be interesting for sure. He has been a solid 3C these past few years.

Giving up 1 year of Chiarot for 2 years of Eller (a player who management knows everything about, no surprises) at the same cap hit, When you have 2 LDs in Norlinder and Guhle who should be ready in the following season is good business to me.

No doubting Danault's ability as a solid 2C or an Elite 3C. But 6 straight years of 20 plus goals in Tatar is nothing to sniff at. There is no telling when goals from Gallagher, Anderson, Caufield or Toffoli might dry up. You can never have too many goals.

Fair. I just think that if Tatar walks, MTL have the options internally to deal with it, while Danault walking forces them to add someone either via trade or FA.
If Tatar walks, top 6 wingers are Anderson, Drouin, Toffoli and Gallagher. 3rd line wingers are Lehkonen and Caufield.

Caps have about 23057230957 great LHD, they don't need Charot. They definitely won't give up one of the best 3C for it either.

Raanta has amazing numbers in ARZ. 2nd best ufa after Andersen. He is going to cost at least 4M AAV. Even Khudobin got north of 3x3M.

if you give up on chariot, you down grade our defense,
if chose eller before danault, you down grade our center core...
plus Norlinder and Guhle are not nhl ready... they will have to play in laval (same for caufield except if he dominate) cause they will be in great hand in Joel Bouchard (Just look at kk before and after laval 😳)

This is it, it was my point but you explain it really well 😁 plus after the season, if tatar have super great stats, we can trade is right to a team who will want to be first in this run, like a 4th pick i guess
