Wings pass, not enough of the right pieces for mantha. It would start with poj and go from there

Wings would probably want someone younger than Dumo. Think MP as a base. He’d be a good fit there tbh

Simply put, this trade does nothing to help the Wings now or in the future. We probably will get a 3rd or 4th if we trade Ryan, Dumo is not something Wings are looking for and Scevior is a dump and the rest do not get Mantha. One is coming off injury and they both are NHL unproven.

Plus, if Mantha is traded it will be for a top center or LDH, not an aging vet, a dump and prospects.

The idea would be for the Wings to move Dumoulin to acquire additional picks/prospects. I would remove Dumo and put Pettersson in his place in the trade. Poulin is a potential top 6 prospect. What exactly has Mantha done to warrant a POJ or Marino based package?

Top line power forward with speed who scores all the time? If we don't get what we want, we keep him and are happy, no big deal

Fair enough. I've never really watched him play. He's never had over 50 pts in a season (although he definitely would have if he played 82 games the last 2 years). I know he has potential tho. I edited the trade, would that be closer?

I think Mantha is a fine player. But square peg round hole.
I don't think he has the speed to play here.
