It's a tough situation for the Sabres to be in. I know some would say that 9 for one happens all the time, but the truth is that a player making $10 million per have never been traded before: I cannot imagine that the other players making $10 million per would either a.) accept a deal to Buffalo, or b.) be on teams that are willing to deal them. One may say, "Well, the Sabres would love to take (insert grade-A prospect's name here)," which is completely true, but the dollars do not necessarily work there: the trading team would be taking on $10 million per. While that is not necessarily the Sabres problem, it sure does limit the number of teams the Sabres can trade him to.

I'll be interesting to see how the Eichel saga plays out; if he decides to stay or, if he decides to leave, where he gets traded to and what he gets traded for.

If Tatar could be moved, as I said, to Philadelphia (https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/418113) for Laughton and replace Kulak with Mete I would do it.

This is the problem with trading top performers, there is not any equal value and Buffalo would be telling their fans we are giving up and starting another rebuild.
That being said, Buffalo never made the playoffs with Jack, maybe they can without him.
BTW, the Laughton trade would add another second round pick making it 10 pieces for Jack. LOL (but 3 are late picks and one is a cap dump)
