Out of curiosity, how good is Hakanpaa? I hadn't heard of him before the season began, and then he was like the top guy on the waiver wire for my fanasty so I picked him up. But I have no idea why, he only has 3 points.

What would you like from Calgary for Steel? Would Bennett work?

He’s been solid for the Ducks lately. Acting like a top 4 defender in my opinion. He’s obviously not worth a top 4 but is a solid solid defenseman for anyone needing a good bottom pair or fringe middle pair defenseman.

It would probably cost more considering Steel is younger and has a higher ceiling. But I’m not 100% sure. My guess would be Bennett + a decent prospect or pick.

In the offseason could MTL work a Mete [RFA Rights] vs Heinen [RFA Rights] ?

Why is Getzlaf a massive overpay?

He's a good player for your team but not for your fantasy team. He's a strong defender and big hitter (leads the team in that category). He also leads the team in time spent behind the opposing goal line; I'm dying to see how that turns out. (He's good for at least one rush/pinch behind the goalie each period.) Amazingly, he leads defensemen in plus-minus (although I realize that's a suspect stat). He has a big shot but that hasn't translated into much yet; that will probably improve over the course of this season. It's a good thing he's exempt from the expansion draft. I think he's a guaranteed re-sign in the off-season.

Imo Kariya Selanne and Niedermayer were better but in terms of long term impact that may go to Getz
