A team like Toronto could very easily send a first for a Tanner Pearson with term for an all-in run. This is a weaker draft and we're definitely not going to be at the top. There's at least one article I found that suggests that could be a viable offer. It's certainly not some outlandish deal in a weak draft.

It very well could be the 28-31 (wherever we end up) pick would be the mid-late second-round prospect you're suggesting. Either way, it don't matter. Yeah but CF unless I’m mistaken doesn’t take into account ELC bonuses and in the case of the Avs that’s around $2M which Makar will get a big chunk of. And unless again I’m mistaken that’s why they are trying to accrue cap space so they don’t have to have the bonuses come out of the cap for next year.
