I see the reasoning for doing this trade if you are the leafs. Trading Mathews and Marner for a guy who has the playmaking skills of Marner plus the goal scoring ability of Matthews and saving a bunch of money. But as far as Edmonton making this trade it doesn’t make sense for them. They are in cap trouble themselves if they accept this. They become the current leafs right now having draisaitl, Matthews and Marner all locked up for big money.

This benefits the leafs way more then the Oilers, no way the Oilers do this. You can’t trade Mcdavid man
