Description
My attempt for next year. I think Gusev is gone, Palms stays. I would think we draft a Dman in this draft. I’d love Power, Clarke, or Hughes.

Holtz comes over and we sign Coleman to solidify bottom 6 and PK.

No idea who Seattle will take, my money is we let Subban off.

Merkley to Seattle. I agree with your ideas but I would restructure the lines.

Zacha-Nico-Bratt
Johnsson-Hughes-Palmieri
Sharangovich-Coleman-Holtz
Wood-McLeod-Bastian

Smith-Sevo
Murray-Walsh
Young player from Bing or first round pick - Subban

Yeah the lines are going to be weird, hard to predict. I do think Coleman back will help a lot.

Both scenarios look good to me.
Would like to see worthwhile back-up in net (not sure what Daws will bring, but love his story...rooting him to take a jump).
Need one more top-4 d-man...
...and one more off-season of weights for Hughes, Bratt, etc

Did you see the new Lines from today's practice? They are horrible

I agree. Maybe they could take on bad contracts this offseason (Ladd, Eriksson, Neal, etc)

Palmieri hasn't earned a raise with his play this season, not even close.

I would play Holtz with Hughes, he's already probably the 3rd best winger on the team without having played a game. No need to push him down the lineup just because he's young.

Agree with you that Power, Clarke, or Hughes would be great. I think you're missing a name in there too with Simon Edvinsson grin

I would probably like to see a trade or a free agent signing in here as well.

That would be ideal. 2022 draft is going to be stacked.

I would love for Holtz to play top 6 right off the bat. I’m just worried we rush him and it stunts him.

I haven’t looked much at Edvinsson. It’s a weird draft since everyone is playing god knows where

I wouldn’t want a bad contract unless we get a great pick or player/prospect along with it. I would prefer we try to lure guys from FA (Hoffman) but I know that would be very difficult to pull off.

Holtz has been ice cold recently. He needs to ride into NHL on wave of confidence.

Mercer on the other hand, is red hot. Would be cool to get him a few games after Q is done.

Teams are gaming for Hughes...and we got nothing else coming from other lines, so probably a shake up should be expected.

I like all of these ideas. Not to be dramatic but I'm feeling more and more like the Devils NEED to sign Coleman this offseason. Whether its term or AAV I think they should make it a point to win the bidding unless it gets ridiculous.
