In many instances yes but it still starts with one of Laf, Kaako, or Fox, + another good prospect + 1st

Eichel doesn't start with Fox, Fox starts with Eichel

I disagree with Laf and kakko combined, Kakko problaby but Laf idk, and I wouldn't do this trade it's a mock trade

Eichel goes first overall in almost any year in the last decade excluding 13.14,15,16,17, kakko will never reach eichel a level or even close too it, and laf is projected to be on huberdues level in his prime which is a tier or two below eichel

Las is a first ovrl pick, and projections are very early predictions anything can happen, I don't see NYR giving up on laf after a couple games.

    Has eichel been good himself?

Significantly better than Zib in an atrocious team.

Could've been better, but all things considered, yes he's been good.

16 points isn't bad on a bad team like the Sabres, I agree

Eichel is a 24 year old top 10 centre. I know NYR won’t give up Laf. But if their not willing to give up Kakko, I am more than happy with eichel staying in Buffalo

Zibby is a non starter for eichel.

The problem with this analysis is that it doesn't take into account whether Eichel is more than happy to stay in Buffalo. Obviously this isn't out for certain yet and all is just a rumor, but all signs seem to point to him not being happy in Buffalo. NYR can put the most competitive package together for Eichel without including Laf, Kakko, Miller, Fox, or Nils (unless LAK is willing to give up Turcotte or Byfield - they're probably not).

Really not sure how Chytil + Strome/Buch + Schneider + Kravstov + 2021 1st doesn't get the job done here. That is a MASSIVE package for Eichel. Considering not all teams can even acquire a $10m cap hit right now, and NYR can with relative ease after this season ends (even w/o removing Strome's last year from their books), I don't see how BUF turns down this deal for an unhappy Eichel if they are intent on trading him. Good luck putting together a better package from other prospective, realistic trade partners.

    The trick is
    A) there (currently) are only a handful Teams that look to be in on Eichel
    b) He hasn't formally requested a trade (yet) but its the worst kept secret in the NHL that he wants out of Buffalo.
    C) the Sabres are god awful with Eichel !

Its gonna come down to Buffalo taking the best package available likely this summer (draft?) between, Id guess NYR, LAK & ANA & not for some of the grandiose returns we've seen floating about.
My guess is the Kings, they have tons of assets , it's a big market for a big name player & its FAR away from Buffalo and the division/conference which im sure the BUF front office would prefer.

    G. Vialrdi (C)
    A. Athanasiou (F) (will be a RFA with arbitration rights with a Qualifying offer)
    T. Madden (C)
    K. Clagu (LHD)

Zibanejad is an elite 1c and I don't think many offers that Buffalo is getting return an elite 1c. Rags will probably keep him anyway and get Eichel or Pettersson as their other centre.

What in name of .... is this? Lafrieniere and Kakko are the best two prospects drafted since Matthews. Both of their ceilings are way higher than Eichels.

They would have to add Dahlin+ in that scenario. Doubt it makes sense for either side.

Nope, nether of them have ceilings higher than Eichel's & he's a Center to boot. (that being said i wouldn't trade either of them)

Best prospect since Matthews? Lets not get too far ahead of the game here ....

Not for us, its a lateral move trading a franchise defenseman for a franchise C especially when you look at their contracts

you underestimate how much hockey I watch and you overrate Rangers players. I remember you specifically overrating Fox for a while now actually, saying he was more valuable than Matthews (lol). He's a great top pair D, but let's not kid ourselves in saying that he's on Makar's level

Potential to be one he's playing out of his mind, he is a makar type player, if he keeps this up then he will be Makar 2.0. But for now he's a Top 4 d man
