The video was stupid -there was 20 people involved and most of the fanbase was against it. You are wrong that most of the fanbase got behind it.

I'm saying as a Leafs fan that's awful and I do not support that. You've been saying over and over JT got what he deserved and there's nothing wrong with how fans treated him. It seems as though you're saying not all fans agree with that video of JT. Fair. But earlier it seems as though you were arguing in support of it being a perfectly acceptable way to treat a former player of that fanbase.

I mean I thought the video was embarassing - but I didn’t have a problem with the things isles fans wrote to tavares on twitter, burning his Jersey, the hostile environment at his first game back. That’s what most people refer to when talking about the way he was treated, not a video 20 people made.

For the record I think any fans burning jerseys or tweeting hate messages is real sad and unnecessary anyways. Perfectly fine with booing players in games that's part of it.

I disagree. I made my points and argued them throughout the whole thread. The only arguments that Isles fans made was that JT got what he deserved, the hate video was an acceptable thing to do to a former captain. I said earlier that I would say the same thing about any fanbase creating something like the Dear John vid. You guys defending it is what gives the Isles fanbase a bad name.

Or you know he can say nothing and say he’s waiting until the offseason to decide like most players do. We’ve had multiple stars leave in the past. Okposo and Nielsen were big losses for us and hey got standing ovations when they came back because they were honest. Don’t go out of your way to say you want to be here then do the exact opposite

They ignore the question and change the subject all the time. We’d actually would’ve been more sympathetic if he said he wanted to leave. We wouldn’t blame him the team sucked and he had one playoff series win in 9 years he would’ve gotten a standing ovation like other established players that left for greener pastures in the past. But he lied and that’s why we are mad.
