What are Vancouver and Montreal giving up 1st and 2nds for I think you got that backwards both teams ESAILY decline

Montreal had issues with Danault before they realized they are a bad team so getting 3 2nd's for a UFA is one hell of a deal. Especially considering with the ageing Pens, those 2nd round picks look better every year. As far as VAN goes, with the goaltending choices they made, a 1st pair D is exactly what they need.

Why wouldn't they? LG is an UFA at the end of this season. JK isn't. JK becomes an asset for trade.

your right they do need a #1 RHD isn't that, they will have a great chance at getting that need via the draft this year it's a terrible trade they counter with Eriksson for Crosby

Riikola is a 8th D-man. Glendening is a solid 4th liner. Why would they want Riikola when they could 1/2 retain and get a mid round pick?

Lol, yes the habs are definitely a bad team that doesn’t care about making the playoffs. That’s why they fired their coach so soon after going on a small slump and why they fired their goalie coach for no reason other than to shake things up.

... And spent +150M in the off season.
... And have a GM without a contract for next year.
... And already have 14 draft picks this year, including two 2nds.

God I wish people would educate themselves about the teams they want to trade with before posting. So much garbage.

Well Bergevin still has 2 years on his deal after this year, but otherwise I completely agree.

We are both wrong. In the middle. End of 2021-2022 season:
https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/general-manager-marc-bergevin-signs-a-multi-year-contract-extension/c-789648

My point stand as a bad finish to the present season would result in him being fired.
