Exactly, replace him with a 2022 3rd rounder and you have a deal

While I can see my other crummy local team being interested in Nick Jensen, I don't think the Kings are (with Sean Walker and Matt Roy there), and I don't see us needing Vanecek unless Seattle takes Jonathan Quick in the expansion draft. I guess you need to include Hagelin to make the money work, so I suppose we could do Hagelin, Vanecek and Alexander Alexeyev for Athanasiou and Carter (50% retained).

Also, why ain't you trying to slang us Vanacek? We'll (i'll) happily take Dilly back too, but we need a solid goalie.

In the Dillon idea, above, I was clearing space for Schmidt's return. A Van fan this morning offered him for Vrana, so I think we're still pretty far apart. I don't know. Is Vrana better than Matheson? smile

Some LA fan posted Jensen, Vanecek, and Hathaway for Athanasiou last week, and another posted Hagelin and a 2nd for Carter this week. I was kind of posting where I think Vanecek's value to the Caps might be right now, given that he's started more than half of their games, and won more than half of those. Not trying to scare away offers, but also not trying to guess he's very available, either.

Gotta make 'em fair or nothing happens. I was thinking maybe the above team rents an expiring goalie contract? But I also kinda think Anderson's done okay, and might keep getting better. Best case, Anderson wins the Cup, with Samsonov as backup, and Seattle claims Panik or Schultz.

Of course, without Van taking Matheson that Pit deal falls through--WSH has enough bottom-four LHD. Only need a guy they know plays well with Carlson, there. So if Pit wants Oshie, and Van can't think of a way to balance that Schmidt trade, then it probably takes Malkin. And Malkin's contract looks worse than Oshie's, but maybe Ovechkin and/or Kuznetsov can help him get going again, a little bit? I don't know. Probably won't happen.

This time it's "an" and not "the." So this doesn't even feel like a good comeback, but... https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/428110?post_id=2189811

Can you deal with that guy? It's not my job.
