I mean Kotkaniemi 3rd oa and still 20 years old, Suzuki started his nhl career at 21, Kotkaniemi is in his 3rd year. Suzuki has lower risk but kotkaniemi definetly has more potential for a top line C. We give you one year of tatar for the cap (tatar is a good player still) Byron for the cap (overpaid but good bottom 6) Guhle are last first rounder and a first and a second

If I was Marc Bergevin I think I'd pass to be honest. Rather keep my young talent over someone like Eichel who is apart of a losing culture in Buffalo

Not enough for Jack Eichel, Tatar is a pending UFA and Byron a cap dump. So basically is boils down to Kotkaniemi+Guhle+Montreals 2021 1st round pick+Montreal's 2021 2nd round pick not nearly enough.

I thought Suzuki was more valuable than Kotkaniemi. How do you assess them yourself, what is their ceiling? What are the pros and cons of both?

I can understand but Tatar is still a good player and if they want they can sign him and maybe flip him next season. Kotkaniemi is still 20yo and a 3rd overall and have a lot of potential. Maybe adding one of Jayden Struble Jordan Harris or Jesse Ylonen

And Jack Eichel is an elite franchise talent, None of those pieces are even remotely in Eichels league. Pretty sure Buffalo can get a better return then this for Eichel if they definitely do put him on the block.

No team will destroy there future for him. Habs could give Suzuki Kotkaniemi Caufield Romanov and Guhle for eichel but whats the point of that. I understand Eichel is an elite player but if he’s getting trade its not for a guy on the same level as him. Its for mulitple young asset

Sabre fan here.
That is actually pretty close to value.
Kotkaniemi, while taken 3rd over all, it was a surprise to most pundits thought he would be taken much later.
Tatar, he is an UFA this year, I suggest MTL trade him then trade those assets to Buffalo.
Byron, obvious cap balancing but he can KP and could be a useful asset
Guhle, first round pick from last year
2021 1st round pick (MTL)
2021 2nd round pick (MTL)
Two recent first round picks, a roster player who may bring a first and a future first and second.

Thanks for your opinion. Tatar was for cap but I forgot he was an ufa so maybe change him for Struble and another mid pick?
