I get this is satire, but yeah it's too much.

In terms of considering the needs of ANA, maybe drop Kerfoot and first. Engvall+Robertson for Rakell is a bargain for them, all things considered.

Yeah, it's too much. The thing is, without Kerfoot included, the Leafs don;t have the cap to make the deal.

Half retain the guy and he costs like 500k more than Engvall.

I don't know...I don't really think the Ducks need Kerfoot. If the Leafs need retention, and Engvall is the filler, I'd do Rakell for Robertson and a 2nd (and Engvall). If there's no retention, sure, Engvall and Robertson.

Exactly, hence I said drop Kerfoot.

Imo Rakell half retained for Engvall+Robertson+2nd is bit too much. Robertson is high caliber prospect enough...don't think a pick is necessary. Maybe a 3rd.

I'm just not 100% sold on him yet, but I guess that's on me...Lots of little guys have had offensive success in the CHL, and AHL for that matter, and it hasn't translated to the NHL. That's what I worry about.

Perhaps, but it's always lottery with prospects. His background is still comparably very promising.

There's a possibility Comtois-Zegras-Robertson line could become the next Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak line in the next 5 years or so.

I know. I just worry about GMBM blowing another move, and turning around to trade Rakell for some bum like Virtanen tears of joy This would also ruin my recurring dream of reuniting everyone's favorite Jr. hockey bromance, Zegras/Caufield (Which will never happen, but I'd burn cities to reunite them).

tears of joy unfortunately Habs suck too much right now.

If there's one duo I'd like to unite it's MacKinnon-Drouin. They were insanely good back in QMJHL.

Fair, but you'd be breaking up one of the top 2 or 3 lines in hockey tears of joy

I'm curious as to how badly a Landy-Mac-Rantanen line would have done had they all been in Jr. at the same time.

I don’t think it’s much of an overpayment at all. As usual, just a bunch of Leaf fans thinking they can get good players for their crap.

It’s a late 1st rd pick, a salary dump of a mediocre player who got paid to much, an ok prospect who the odds are against ever sticking in the NHL, and a bottom 6 C. Looks like Toronto is winning this trade because they’re getting the best player.

Well 30 games played this season, Rakell sits for about 10 games, as he has to quarantine for 14 days before can even practice. So he plays about 18 games before the playoffs.

To bad...not Anaheim’s problem or 23 other teams.

Well see what you can get for him even if he's traded. No wa it's even close to what this post indicated.
