The way Couture, Karlsson and Kane have been playing, adding Eichel almost certainly gives us that gamebreaker we need to make the playoffs.

He literally dropped out of nowhere from a top 10-15 goalie in the league to being not just the worst starter but worse numbers than most backups. They keep thinking he'll improve but he just stays the same, with Korenar playing really well and Melnichuk is the goalie of the future I would be surprised if Jones isn't bought out this summer.

seems more then fair (1c, top 6 winger, 1st rd, 1st rounder) but not what buff needs imo.

Id go to a team with better quality prospect depth, hertl doesnt match buffs timeline unless theres a huge turnaround and meiers very nice but if hertl isnt a good fit it makes the deal fall apart. If buff can contend within next season and maybe extend hertl than it works but ehhh.

1c, top 6 winger, 1st rd, 1st rounder is ideally the type of return I want Buffalo to get, if anything gets tacked on to those 4 main components then that is a bonus. I would probably ask for Gabriel to, especially if they're just going to bury him

I think Gabriel is gonna be a shark for a while, hes been playing a good role for us. And i understand that i guess; Im just more biased towards getting youth I guess.

Eichel has performed pretty well on nothing but bad teams. He's a top 10 C in the league. In his prime and has a good contract.

I agree completely. I don't see him as a good fit based on what it would take to get him. Assuming they resign Hertl, the Sharks are good at 1c/2c for probably 3 years.

If Jack Eichel wanted out, you’ll be lucky to get the Karlsson deal.

He isn't cheap which is why my offer is so strong.

Hertl - Top Six C, all star, former 70 point player, excellent in playoffs, one year left at reasonable salary.
Pasichnuk - Potential top 4 offensive dman, excellent skater
Dahlen - Still potential top six two-way forward under 23.
Simek - strong defender, can play with offensive dmen, could evolve into a shutdown guy with three years left on reasonable money.
The 2 1sts are both potentially top 15 or better.

Eichel, the best player to don the teal since Joe Thornton in his prime. Young, elite, tough and would absolutely be the new face of the Sharks for years to come. It's the Thornton trade all over again giving us another superstar to build a contender around. PP1: Kane, Eichel, Meier, Couture, Karlsson. Boom.

I just don't see it happening, but who knows. I'd be happy with that trade though as a Sharks fan.
