All those players listed come from different geographical areas. For instance my territory was all of Ontario, PA and NY up until Albany. So each scout will have a territory. Then you have pro scouts, those guys scout other NHL teams, then you have amateur scouts, those guys do CHL (WHL, OHL, QMJHL), OPJHL, NCAA, USHL. Then you have your European scouts, then you have those that look at AHL players. Then you will have contract scouts, example you recommend a player in the USports or ECHL and he makes the team, you get a finders fee anywhere between $1000 to $7500. if the players gets an A or a C on his jersey while with the team, you get a bonus. I recommended two d-men to the team I worked for and they had zero interest. I knew they could play and I was not allowed to contact teams in the league I worked in, so I sent them to a team in another league, both made the team, both helped team win the memorial cup, so I made an extra $12K for those two players in total. So it really depends.
