*LOL* Hakanpää, done nothing in the AHL, check. 1 point in 31 games this season, check. Worth a 3rd rounder? Hell no! You'll be lucky if some teams offers you futures for him.

I take that trade in a heart beat. A year and 1/2 of Rakell for a 1st (that's hopefully at lowest 30th) that there is no guarantee cause most prospects aren't playing and a skilled winger that Leafs have plenty of.

I think that you're a little optimistic on the returns for Hakanpaa and Rackell. Jani has only 36 games in the NHL and only one goal and one assist in that time, so I don't think that anyone will pay a third for him. Besides, he looks to me like the only blueliner we have willing to move guys out of the crease, legally or illegally, so I'd keep him.

Amirov is Toronto's number one prospect and Maple Leafs fans expect him to be the next Kirill Kaprizov so @mitchmarner16 's opinion will be shared by every Toronto adherent.

And then no sooner do I finish typing than one guy comes along and proves me completely wrong.

Jani could fetch a 3rd. Greene fetched a 2nd plus last season.

It’s a different league this year, and Greene is great in the locker room.

Jani is great in his own end which is better than locker room talk. He provides something on the ice.

No, when you over value someone that's clearly not worth considering you look foolish. He can't even get it done in the AHL. Why pay for a player of his caliber when there's guys just like him being placed on waivers every day. We have a Hakanpää on our team already we don't need more. He's 28 years old any upside he had, has come and gone.

So is Andy Greene. Andy Greene is very good defensively and in the locker room.

He's a defensive defenseman. LOL you don't think Lou would pull a move like that? He traded a 2nd rounder for 37-year-old Greene getting paid 5M who had a 45.24CF% and 46.17 xGF% on the Devils, he was the second-worst D-man on his team in controlling play, and by no means an offensive phenom. Hakanpa is 28, RHD, 6' 5", has an 800K contract, and actually has better defensive stats than Greene has had the last 5 seasons, 49.34 CF%, and 47.89 xGF%.

Lou would absolutely give up a 3rd for Hakanpaa.

Haha. Not true. He’s great defensively and is one of the best in the league at blocking shots.

He’s actually not good defensively. You use some of the worst stats possible to claim a player is good.

Idk how to add pictures but Greene plays against some the easiest competition and still is in the bottom half of the league in xGA. Jani plays against relatively tough competition and is very good at preventing xGA.

You guys grabbed him off waivers from Detroit. He couldn't even cut it with a crappy team like Detroit. No I don't think Lou would give up a 3rd for someone just like him they could get from the waiver wire for free.

You’re right I don’t. But I based my evaluation of him on more than “he didn’t play in the AHL” and actually looked at numbers that show Greene is actually very bad.

I don’t understand what you mean about the AHL. These number you are looking at inaccurately depict Greene’s play.
