Description
What we Leafs fans are seeing is a goalie issue that is slowly becoming more and more alarming. I think Andersen isn't on LTIR because they need to see Campbell's progress in health for now. I think the Leafs go and acquire a goalie and place Freddie on LTIR for the rest of the season, unless one of the other goalie go down and Freddie is activated. Every Leaf fan can say that the scariest thing for us to it watch Hutch in net. That being said, I think logically Dubnyk is the best bargain to acquire. Doesn't cost too much, he is experienced, and he is semi-reliable to play decent for the rest of the season, likely splitting the games 50/50 with Jack. I also think that Galchenyuk has proven he is capable to play 2LW, but it has to be sustainable of course. Leafs could bolster that third line with Foligno and Jenner (either or can play centre and LW). Oleksiak would be a big add on the blue line. Him and Bogosian would fit that "tough to play against" mold that Dubas has preached since the playoff bubble. Checkout that third line, they fit that mold too. You can switch Mikheyev with Simmonds if need be too.

Sharks can retain on Dubnyk if you need

Funny how you say Leafs fans are scared with GAA 2.49 and .915 SP Hutchinson, but will be somehow delighted with Dubynk at 3.15 and .898. Admitting I would take Dubyk for fourth rounder.

The issue is Dubnyk isn't a good goalie at this point. Two years in a row at sub 900 at 34?

He's done. Good career and all. But pass

If you want to trade for pending Ufa for a lower cost trade for Raanta, Ullmark or if they decide to sell Rittich.

None are superstars but they're cost effective and shouldn't cost that much.

Ya Hutch has played 6 games those stats are skued a bit. Dubnyk is a better goalie no questions asked. Get him a good team infront of him and he will perform. That OT winner yesterday was so safe-able. Hutch is a backup goalie on a bad team, and taxi-squad goalie/reserve goalie on a good team.

Good point. I'd still rather Dubnyk over Hutch. My problem with getting a better goalie is that you spend a third or whatever and take a heavier cap hit on a goalie that will likely become the reserve goalie come playoff time, because they wouldn't do that to Campbell, and a healthy Freddie is better than Campbell and all of your options. Good point though.

Eh at this point I'd probably take hutch or just give vesi V a chance. Or even Wedgewood or Dell for cheap.

I just have zero confidence that Dubnyk has anything left in the tank.

Also if it came to it, I'd rather pay Buffalo the Ullmark price (which doesn't seem that high) and add a third for retention

Okay I understand. Its not like Dubnyk has been bad this season. Keep in mind he plays for a really bad team. Not like he would be the starter or anything, he would just eat games here and there to take the workload off of Campbell. Hutch just scares me man like he can't control rebounds and when he gets set he has the size of a Bantam goalie it' just weird. The OT winner yesterday was save-able so I am still salty about it lol.

Yea I would too but Ullmark has also been very injury prone this season. It would be a revolving door between the three goalies to see which one is the healthiest to play. Ullmark would probably be Ian Scott or Kivihalme + a third IMO.

I'm not losing sleep when McDavid rushing with a non scrub in a 2-on-1 ends up in the back of the net.

I'm trying to figure out why Philly hasn't traded for him to be honest.
