Why would Nashville do that trade, they are in a playoff spot?

They are on a hot streak right at the trade deadline. Other than these past 6 games they have been mediocre at best. Even if they do manage to get in I cannot see this team as it is right now making it past the 1st round.

Granlund is a ufa and really has not had much value at all for Nashville these past two years. They get a someone who isn't returning off their books for a pick and prospects.

Yah I am not sure that playoff teams dismantle their teams usually. Like it just doesnt happen.

They surely don’t do it for that return. If they get a first, maybe but they aren’t going to sell off for a 2nd in one of the worst drafts in a decade

Devils decline Wood offer.
Counter with Palmieri or Gusev...(but no Kerfoot).

Every fan base on here....."my team says no, but you can take my 30 point 3rd liner if you give me a good prospect and a 1st"

Every player on here is worth at least a 1st and a good prospect. Why? Because remember that time a desperate GM spent that on a player that is barely comparable to the player in question? That's why! All GM's have to make bad trades for my players!

IF Wood were made available, what would be a return that would make sense.

He would be a near-perfect fit for the Leafs right now and going into the playoffs.

Granlund is a UFA at the end of the year, and he isn't really producing much for the team. Nashville will be bounced in the first round for Tampa anyways.

Teams get I think it is 1 million per game in revenue from the playoffs. Players contracts are already paid at that point. So your argument is absolutely ridiculous.

Exactly OML its toxic. People saying Miles Wood and FOligno and Jenner and Fabbri are worth a first rounder and prospects, when their team for one doesn't need them because they are losing anyways, and B needs value for them incase they walk in free agency. SO toxic, people don't really understand how asset management works.

OH MY LORD because Mikhail Granlund will push the needle for NSH to make the playoffs. Give me a break, you can get draft picks and a decent prospect for a guy who won't be resigned in the summer. You don't really get how asset management works do you.

First off why do you want him if he doesnt push the needle. Second he would be 6th on your team in goals and has the same amount of goals as Iafallo, who leafs fans love. And he can play center. He definatly pushes the needle. He is 4th in goals on Nashville as well. But whatever you think, because you are right and leafs should get him and everyone else.

I’d think Wood return would either be A-level prospect and pick or two.

I’d think one of Sandin, Liljegren, Robertson, Amirov, etc would have to be included. Plus a 1st or two 2nd/3rds. Or perhaps Engvall (or similar) plus one of those prospects...if better for cap.
