Never going happen

Created by: MattyMadden28
Team: 2016-17 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Nov. 13, 2016
Published: Jan. 6, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Risky for Colorado. But they get a bunch of pieces that can contribute. Kapanen could be real good. They could move JVR next year if they want to get younger. This is a shake up. Never going to happen.

I think Toronto would need to perhaps throw in another prospect in terms of making this trade equal value. However this trade doesn't make sense for either team, Colorado needs d help and thats the asking price for Duchene/Landeskog. Also there's no reason for the Leafs to acquire Duchene they have many players already who play his style and Landeskog would be a reasonable add in terms of his leadership and heavy game but I don't see leafs moving a winger for another winger as they would trade JVR for d help.

1st the only player the leafs might be interested in might be Landesog for his leadership seeing that him and JVR skill wise are very similar. But saying that the leafs are not interested in trading away prospects right now they have even said this on the record.

Might be a fair trade but do the Leafs need another "heavy" player on the LW? Komarov, Martin, even Hyman are there now, maybe a goal scorer is needed at LW. And to give up assets without improving the defence.

You're right it will never happen, Unless one of either Nylander or Marner are going the other way there's no way the Leafs are getting both Landy and Duchene.

Komarov, Hyman, and Martin do not nearly have the scoring skill Landeskog has so what would be wrong in getting a winger that can score and hit rather than just have one dimension to his game like the 3 you just mentioned. Also if JVR actually used his size like Landeskog then I'm pretty certain the leafs would feel less inclined to trade him or would have the right to demand a greater asking price. It's still funny how you implicitly even tried to compare Landeskog to Hyman, Martin and Komarov
