Team: 2016-17 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 9, 2017
Published: Jan. 9, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I saw in a previous post that ARI might not want picks for a draft so far away, but at the end of the day they can always be moved to obtain an NHL caliber player or even a rental for next season. Having assets in the NHL is a huge advantage.
Trades
CHI
  1. Duclair, Anthony
  2. Hanzal, Martin ($1,550,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Pokka is right around the same age group as Arizona's young core
ARI
  1. Pokka, Ville
  2. 2018 1st round pick (CHI)
  3. 2018 3rd round pick (CHI)

Eh Chicago probably loses Pokka to Vegas anyways but I don't think that package is of interest to the Yotes. Take Duclair out and maybe

There's first round picks and first round picks. Look at the crapshoot of picking in the mid 20s onwards. Way down the road if at all NHLers. And Pokka...Will be 23 in June, has never played an NHL game in 2.5 years in the NHL.
He's getting to be "suspect" not prospect. All teams have guys like him in the AHL

I get what you're saying here but there was quite literally no room for him in the NHL this year. Q liked Forsling at camp and was basically stuck with him once he played 10 games because they didn't want him to go back to Europe. Last year I think we should have seen him but he was still young and Q likes older players. If the Hawks make a trade with a defenseman Pokka will be the next call up.

I've seen Duclair on a few trade posts with Arizona but I think it's unrealistic that the Blackhawks are going to trade for any young NHL roster talent to prepare for the playoffs. Young guys in their system, playing their style of play for years, have a hard time cracking the NHL lineup. They add young talent to the organization at the start of the season but not as they ramp up to the playoffs. A rental veteran like Hanzal is a possibility though.

I highly doubt Pokka goes instead of TVR and Kruger.

Duclair's really struggling. I wouldn't give that much for him rn and Hanzal rental.
