MTL doesn’t need to trade Byron
And Bergevin doesn’t consider Byron a cap dump

I like the fact that we have 3 lines who've shown chemistry. And then I'm a big fan of adding Coleman into the mix to play on the one remaining line ideally with Foote and either Holtz or Mercer depending on who's ready. I guess my concern is that even though the other lines have had chemistry this year they haven't done all that much in terms of production or certainly the win column. I'm of the belief that this team HAS to be significantly better next year for the sake of development and morale. It's gonna be a tough call to either stick with what we have and hope everyone develops enough to be competitive or add a couple of established vets to address the issues. Like those top 2 lines have the potential to be very good if the players take another step next season but also could be kind of eh if guys stagnate.

Interested in Graves I like that deal. Kind of iffy on Murray, would rather sign him for two years. I had high hopes for him and he's been solid at times but also has had major lapses defensively which is supposed to be his bread and butter. Also his back issues concern me. I don't think Walsh is going to be ready definitely not for 2nd pairing. I'd look to sign a vet to play 2RD or maybe give Walsh a shot at the third pair with a very steady partner on his left.

I think Holtz will be ready by next year over Mercer but probably not for top 6 minutes. I don't think its too big of a problem because the team hasn't fully developed yet. The Devils should get 1-2 vets but not overload the team with old players. You're probably right about Murray. In about 2 years, Luke Hughes or Mukamudullin would be ready.

Any of the forwards is good with me just not a D. I’m guessing if you guys pick Luke, Ty smith is moving t RD?

He might. He could play both sides but it epends on who develops. Devils have Bahl, Okhotyuk, L. Hughes, Mukamudullin as options for their future LHD. If most or all of them develop, then he'll move to RHD. If 1-2 of them develop, he'll stay at LHD

I would do it if we could get rid of Chiarot, but I doubt Bergy shares the same view of Chiarot as me.

I think there may be a little something headed back to the Devils on this trade, but not much.
Really depends on if the Avs are fielding multiple offers on Graves.
I think Graves holds value around 2 2nds, otherwise the Avs could just sacrifice him to Seattle.
