Description

Tampa Bay - deal clears money and NMC from their team to resign other players for the expansion draft.
Washington - gives caps another weapon for a run at a cup but comes at a price JVR should demand.
Montreal - Polak adds depth.
Philly - clears a underpreforming player and some money for a more productive player but at a price.

Assuming the Bozak and Polak trades are made at the TDL. Leafs are in a playoff push and those two players are needed by the Leafs. And Bozak may needed next year and the Leafs don't need 3.6m winger in Read.
I like the Washington trade if the Leafs really think Vrana and Bowey are going to NHLers and soon. Leafs might pass up immediate need for guaranteed futures.

Yzerman will only want picks for Filppula, Yzerman can't afford to take on any more cap unless it's an ending contract last year.
