No news out of the Klefbom camp, which suggests his earliest possible return would be mid-November, but probably more closer to January 2022. The pool of defencemen Seattle has at their disposal probably means they won't take the unnecessary risk on Klefbom's health. Seattle takes Benson. Left enough money for Klefbom to come back midseason.

7F: Archibald, Draisaitl, McDavid, Nugent-Hopkins, Puljujarvi, Wilson, Yamamoto
3D: Bear, Jones, Nurse
1G: Samsonov

Flip Jones and Kahun next year for picks/prospects, replace Kulikov with Broberg, bring Holloway up, extend McLeod at $1M/2y, maybe keep Archibald at $1M/2y, and Koskinen's deal expiring covers raises for Bear ($4M), Nurse ($7M), and Konovalov/Skinner coming onto the roster. Puljujarvi at the Coleman deal, and Edmonton's cooking with gas.

explain? Capitals either lose him or Vanecek to Seattle for free and Vanecek has been the better goalie and is cheaper. Sammy has been a minor headache and Vanecek has shown up and been great. Sammy ceiling is higher but ill take VV everyday of the week.

I’m actually not sure we do bc he has 3 years after this one and it’s at a high cap for a player that doesn’t produce. Rather just go after reaves at that point

Reaves has 40 points the last 3 years 188gp (.21ppg)

Kassian has 65 points the last 3 years 165gp (.40ppg)

i think Kassian besides this year produces pretty well... roughly 32 points in an 82 game season. Also getting Reaves would mean Vegas is willing to part with him

lol cool.... your excitement confuses me but I'm glad you are going to watch some Rangers hockey. their rebuild was quiet impressive.

i would think you would be excited for the future bc the devil have good young talent but being MORE excited for the Rangers is a weird approach

Can't, and won't, do full retention. Best I'll do is 33%.

There seems to be a want from Rangers fans for Kassian and you're already getting him at both a discount and for next to nothing. You need to move closer to this price.

You can find someone who brings half of what he does for cheaper. You don't get his production AND physicality in a single package.

You're either bringing in two guys (best case scenario) for league minimum to cover what he does. Pony up the extra $600K and save a roster spot.

EDIT: Better yet, if you want more retention, you can forget about Edmonton taking the DeAngelo buyout. That was my means of bridging that gap for two years instead of retaining more over three.

We have production to go around, the need for pure physicality is whats being overblown

No I'm happy about Devs being on their way (way too Long, but happy) Former NYRs fan and love to hate since 82! Impressed with their rebuild and stunned they did this. It's a mistake but as the rival across the river, I love it.
Gotta admit I was a fan vs Wash the other night, Wilson is a punk and ends up screwing NY over even more than he could imagine!
Here's to hoping both franchises pull each other apart and my Devs steam ahead past the bs

Look if kassian kept up a solid point total this season maybe but if he won’t post points it’s rough to play that just for physicality for next 3 years
