Next season another rebuilder

Created by: Kyle_Davidson
Team: 2021-22 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: May 11, 2021
Published: May 11, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Strome and Murphy trades happen after the expansion draft meaning both are protected.

Toews, Kane, DeBrincat, Strome, Hagel, Borgstrom, Gaudette.

Keith, Murphy, Stillman

The strome trade assumes that the pick is middle of the first round ish

I think this is somewhat realistic.

If we can get rid of JVR or Voracek we can go after Hamilton if his in FA. Teaching Zamula RD would be really beneficial for philly because our LD is full and Zamula is a guy im sure philly would want in the lineup at some point.

Theres tons of options, it comes down to whether they can fix sanheim or myers, how they need to address the defense.

I just dont see Murphy as a top 15 pick and a mid rounder as his value

If Dougie is an option at all, Dumba is too capwise. Dougie is gonna come in over 8 mil…

Dougies overall game is something to pay 8 mil for.

Giving up a top 15 pick is too much in my opinion. His style of play is what we need so i can see why someone would give a top 15 pick for him.

Not questioning that, just the total cap number.

God no. Just that you could afford the Dumba salary if you can afford the Dougie salary. Yeah, 6 mil for Dumba is slightly over what he brings but not by much.

Yea i was bit confused what you meant. Quality-price ratio isn't all the greatest with dumba. Also his contract would be on the way when we need to sign guys like Couturier, Farabee and Allison (Not saying Hamilton's wouldn't be) which would eventually get Voracek either traded or bought out so it would be good to get his contract out of the way before its too late.

Dylan Strome is a healthy scratch on a non playoff team.
why would anyone give up a 1st for him? his value is at an all time low.

Hawks would be smart to keep Murphy.
You need veterans on the blue line to teach the young kids.

If anything, they should look to move Keith if they can

Not so sure Strome brings a 1st in anymore. My guess is a 2nd and 3rd, he is clearly out of favor with the Hawks and his 2nd team in his young career.

Sadly I agree, though I do think we could get a later first if its packaged with a bad contract and Strome is part of that package. eg. EDM for Kosk or Neal.
