That does not make your trade any better it just means his proposal was bad as well! It does not matter how many times a proposal is made it doesn't make it any better. If I made a proposal for Barzal for Weal would it make the proposal better just cause someone else made it first? No of course not it just means 2 people made a bad proposal instead of 1.

I mean you don’t really downgrade at all lol. Price has been mediocre at best this year and makes so much money where Varlamov has been one of the best goalies in the league and has a much more reasonable contract.

even mediocre Price >>> top form Varlamov. If he wasn't then the Ilse's wouldn't be interested in trading for Price in the first place. Yes Price has had a down year but goalies are often referred to as voodoo because their stats often fluctuate year to year, even the great ones. Broduer, Roy, Fleury, Joseph, Bellfore and Hasek all had up and down years, sometimes even 2, 3, 4 in a row.

Mediocre by NHL goalie standards, terrible by Prices standards. When it comes to goalies, the numbers don’t lie. Price has had 1 good year in the past 4, Varlamov has been at least decent the last 4 years and makes half as much money. I get they fluctuate but this is becoming a pattern and he’s not getting any younger. Not sure where you’re hearing the Isles have interest in trading for Price, as I haven’t heard anything like that at all, and they would be stupid to trade for a declining goalie making 10 mil for another few years when they have a good starter making 5 mil and a good younger backup. Varlamov has a GSAx of 9.5 this year where Price’s is at -8.11, almost an 18 goal difference, which is huge.
