It's not. Reinhart was top10 in goals this year. In f*cking Buffalo. With no good teammates.

Think you'd have to offer package similar to what you'd think moving Boeser would cost. I'd bet you wouldn't be willing to move him for Mittelstadt+1st for instance.

Juolevi+1st is not going to cut if you ask me. Adding a cap dump to the pile makes it even worse, even if that 2nd compensates on that.

Reinhart is more valuable than Boeser as a centre with similar production and no health issues. Would you move Boeser for that package? Probably not...

Would swapping Juolevi out for DiPietro and Rathbone make it fair. Also I think Reinhart value is lowered a bit because he probably will not resign in 2022

Reinhart for JT Miller

Why would Buffalo take that they are rebuilding they do not need a player in his prime

if/when they trade Eichel/Reinhart i think they're going to target youth and established players. Especially in Reinharts case, i think they look for a similar player

They already have Luukkonen, so there's no pressing need for DiPietro.

Rathbone's a question mark to me.

Reinhart's value drops a bit due to his contract situation yes, but it's also raising a bit from last year due to playing such a great year in an environment where almost everyone else failed. He deserves some recognition.

If his value is down a bit in your opinion then make it equal with Boeser who's contract is up after next year and Vancouver will be struggling to afford... Would you trade Boeser for that package?
The best suggestion I've seen is Hoglander and their 2021 1st. The money doesn't work there. I think if Reinhart is going to Vancouver or Calgary it's a hockey trade. That means one of Boeser, Miller, Horvat(unlikely), Monahan, Lindholm, Hanifin(maybe) etc. is coming back the other way and whatever is needed to "dress it up" because GMs have their own opinions.
You're dealing with a "40 goal scorer" from this season who has never been hurt. He's also a former 2nd overall pick.

The "rebuilding" tag is thrown around too much. They're at a crossroads where some adds and more importantly some subtractions could make them a contender tomorrow. It's the ancillary pieces to the roster that are the problem. Plus health this year. They were playing without their 1C, 1LW, 2D, 1-5G, etc. lol

If Reinhart truly wants to go home, just wait for a year when he is a UFA. Why do so many think Seattle is going to select Holtby.

I do not think Seattle will take Holtby, but by compensating them with picks I think they will

Why the F*** would TB use Foote as cap fodder? A young club controlled very good player at their weakest position?

Every "homer" thinks Seattle is going to take their bad contract. Sorry picks don't it. Seattle wants to have a competitive immediately. There are lots of goalies available who are much better and cheaper than Holtby.

Make the 2022 1st a 2021 1st and you probably aren't off as much as everyone seems to think on the original Reinhart deal. Question for the Sabres now really is: do you get more at the trade deadline with retention on a 1 year deal? Probably not.

I disagree. He will complete 6 "full" NHL seasons this week. Only needs 7 full seasons to be an UFA.

Yeah I am starting to see that it is inevitable. I was mostly trying to get him without giving up that pick but that does not seem possible

Honestly? Better off inquiring, seeing if he's interested, waiting a year to see if he hits UFA. It's a risk but Vancouver has the hometown advantage.

He's an RFA at the end of this season.
