I hope to god Eichel retires from this injury before we even consider something so dumb. He’s one guy and one guy can’t win on his own. I’d take my chances that we are better off with Laf and Kakko and that 1st than losing them both to just gain Eichel. Disgusting trade.

I agree that’s way too much but let’s not act like you guys would be blowing up your team by doing this. You still have Panarin, Zib, Kreider, Buchnevich, Chytil, Kravtsov and your entire defence.

Rangers fans act like Kakko is the 2nd coming, for having a 0.35 PPG through 2 seasons.

So we become old then. Laf and Kakko are 19 and 20. Panarin is almost 30, same with Mika and Kreider. Buch is already 26. Chytil still needs to show he can score more and same with Kravtsov. It’s ridiculous to give up two guys that are under the age of 22 for a guy who’s got a neck injury.

Still wouldn’t trade Laf though.

I guess that’s fair, it’s super unlikely Jack will be a Ranger.

That’s perfectly fine with me, cause I don’t want him.

I think Reinhart is a possibility though.

I don’t want him either. Not much of an upgrade over Strome, more of a lateral move that doesn’t make us better.

You could play him on the wing though until Strome's contract is up or until Kaako shows he can play in top 6. Adding a piece like Reinhart would be great for the Rangers if they can make it work. He's great defensively and produces offensively at a pretty good clip.

Why on earth do we need another winger though? Then we block Kakko and Kravtsov. Reinhart is not a good fit for us.

If Eichel were healthy...
But until then, hard to imagine any team posting two (maybe three) lottery picks for one yet-to-be-surgically-repaired Eichel.

You can't stay young forever though just waiting for your prospects to turn out. Package Kravstov and make the trade, his chances at becoming as good as a player as Reinhart aren't in your favor. The trade makes you better right now without touching any of your high end prospects,

Yeah I'm aware just enjoy seeing Rangers fans get so heated about seeing them in a deal, it's almost as if the trade has happened in real life. In reality though, whether they are willing to admit it or not, it's going to take one of them for Buffalo to consider. Chances of either of them becoming as good as Eichel aren't great, he's a superstar. I don't see superstar at all with Kaako and while Lafreniere could end up being that good, Eichel is already a superstar where Lafreniere just has potential to be one, nothing guaranteed.

Still doesn’t mean I want Eichel at $10 mil with a neck injury.

Again I’m willing to be patient and take that chance than taking Eichel with a neck injury. Plus Reinhart is not that good and certainly not someone I’d pay the $6-7 mil plus on a long term deal to keep him around. You’re forgetting the cap exists and these young guys are needed because of the big contracts we’ve already got to fill out our roster.

Reinhart is that good, only bright spot in Buffalo this year, contributes on both sides of the puck. I'm not forgetting about the cap but having these young guys to round out your roster is fine, eventually though you are going to have to make a move. Maybe Eichel isn't all that realistic but Reinhart is a solid option for them. Look at the Lightning they haven't been all that conservative with the cap and it seems to work out fine for them.

Still wouldn’t do it. Buffalo is a dumpster fire and I don’t want any part of it.

The organization is a dumpster fire , not the players.

Yeah but still what are the odds the next one out of there turns into Ryan O’Reilly and leads us to a cup?

O'Reilly can't be the standard for players getting out of Buffalo, that's unrealistic lol. Reinhart is no O'Reilly, but he's damn good and shouldn't be scoffed at just because he plays in Buffalo and he's not as good, not a lot of players in the league as good as O'Reilly.
