Description
Testing the waters wondering what Detroit fans think. Most Wings fans think Seider is untouchable which is entirely fair, just want to know if this is close, over or under pay? Constructive criticism is welcome, no a$$holes please.
Patrick is worth the risk of a 2nd. Vancouver clears Loui and his cap, cheaper than Seattle taking him. Bye Copp

Too much potential in Perfetti to make a trade for that kind of return. Detroit adds a lot.
That is why a Perfetti/Seider trade is so polarizing in my view. So much risk for both teams and both appear to be top line players (potential anyways) A trade like that could pay dividends for both. Detroit D depth is a plus and can (afford to gamble) to get that high end C that they are missing. Wings fans say that Seider is untouchable because of his potential, but forget that Perfetti has that exact same potential! I only added Samberg and the pick as the overpay to try to get them to bite. The value favours Detroit by a large margin IMO but completely understand the view that he is untouchable.
If Detroit wants that high end C, you either need to draft him, or trade with something that would hurt, same as Winnipeg if they want that high end D, and the same with every other team.
At least you guys are setup well this year and next to try and draft that top end C and LD you need.

I do agree that both players are close to untouchable, but the value in my opinion goes to Sieder. He is definitely more of a sure thing and is a RD. Perfetti could still end up being a LW that can't skate fast enough and can't play the physical game. The picture would be alot clearer in a year, to see if they start reaching their potential on the NHL. If Perfetti makes the team.

So why is Detroit paying for an asset when they can potentially get them for free in a year? Detroit needs top end players especially at defense and center so why trade for a mid 6 forward on a career year? The extension isn’t the worry at all, it’s the cost of a young top 4 defensemen when he (Copp) may even be exposed in the ED.

Hronek is 23 and established, how does Samberg fit the rebuild but Hronek doesn’t? If you want Hronek think Heinola or Perfetti otherwise there’s no reason for Detroit. Not to pick on Samberg but we have his quality LHD in our pipeline.

Teams trade for players 1year away from UFA all the time. It gives them an edge to resign them before any other team has the ability to. This isn’t new. Detroit fans were sure they could get Trouba for free when he hit UFA, but never happened because he was traded and signed an extension with the Rags!
The Samberg and Copp idea is to fill a gap in your roster using a strength. Detroit has some great defensive depth while Winnipeg has some great forward depth and some really good defensive prospects but is in the in win now mode. According to HF and CF boards, Detroit needs forward and LD, hence Copp and Samberg as the suggestions. If your adverse to it that’s fine and I understand, that’s why I love these boards, to get values, ideas and views of other fan bases, but if it doesn’t work it doesn’t work

Fair enough, Seider also has a 1 yr jump on Perfetti so there is also that to consider. Also, you mention Perfetti ability to adapt to the NHL game (LW, speed and physicality), but you forget to mention that Seider may have the same issues...
Neither guy has played a single NHL game!

I get teams trading for a UFA one year before but how many of them want out of their given team get good value especially from a rebuilder? None, I can’t think of any recent example. I also see the expansion draft as being problematic for Winnipeg with a decision on Appleton or Copp being exposed. On top of that his career year is driving up his next contract. I get it, if you don’t want to include Heinola or Perfetti for Hronek then there’s really no chance of a deal. Detroit needs needle movers and Samberg/Copp isn’t that so a quantity for quality deal doesn’t work for us. Maybe go after Dougie Hamilton in the offseason to fill that RD spot?

Sieder has been manhandling men in the SHL and was 1 of the best D-men in the league. You should look up some of his clips. And the SHL is the real deal, probably 2 or 3rd best league in the world. That's why the Wings fan base have so much faith in him.

I would say the same about Perfetti on the Moose

Seider is untouchable for Detroit, they don't move him for anything short of disgusting overpay and this doesn't meet that threshold
