I doubt it as there’s probably a handful of other teams that would be willing to give up more, assuming that NYI pick is even 20th+ in a weaker draft.

To play wing? Or 3rd line center?
For one-year?
Hertl isn't someone Devils should even be thinking about.

1st line wing. Sign him to an extension. Could be a nice piece with the young guys. That’s the problem with most Devils fans- everyone thinks every prospect is gonna pan out and light it up right off the bat. We need other pieces

Hertl is a center.
Don't need 'established' winger either.
Need d-men who can successfully turn the puck around, execute breakouts.

We have all the forward pieces we need in pipeline.
We need a top d-man piece...or even two top d-men pieces.

"Sign him to an extension". It's crazy to base a trade on hoping for an extension especially lottery teams. Keep your assets, New Jersey has plenty of cap to sign a UFA next summer

If we need Jack to get an established winger, there are better and cheaper options. Try JVR

I disagree. I think you do what the Sens did in the second half of the season and let these young guys - who played pretty well together - continue to develop. Don't forget Holtz could make the roster and is the perfect kind of player to pair with Hughes. I agree with @NHLfan10506 - the Devils will probably draft one of Hughes, Clarke, or Power and try to sign someone else. They need to round out their top 4 D next to Severson and Smith. Let their forwards mature together and you could end up with great results

No. None of this is a good starting piece for him. Look at what Hall got last year, and add because its a full year.

Probably not, also keep in mind Hertl as a 3 team trade list, and I highly doubt he would waive to go to any team that missed the playoffs, especially 3rd worst in the league.

Bjork and a 2nd.

Exactly. Hertl unlikely has NJD on his 3-team list.
Also, Sharks are unlikely to get anything close to this return because of that limited market.
I think the Bjork, 2nd sounds about right.

Two AHLers and a late first pick in a bad draft year. Ask for Hischier Holtz or Wood.

Just tells u how little u know about hockey. Kuokkanen had more points than Chytil and Laf this year. He was a rookie
