Hard to see that being beat. Sabres almost certainly take this deal over a deal centered around Kakko.

No one is underrating, it is reading the market. It's a flat cap, and you are trading for an injured super-star on an off-year who just insulted his franchise. The Kings are willing to move Turcotte + +, what other teams have the assets to give up a blue-chip prospect, $10M in cap space, outside of their division? Rangers, Coyotes, and Kings are in the mix because an astronomical price brings the number of realistic suitors lower. Those teams set the price, the Sabres can pass, but what happens when Eichel requests a trade?

Absolutely, but I meant more in terms of how that would further tank his trade value. Legit concern if the Kings get him, can't say he'll be any happier being with another rebuilding team and demand a trade.

Or keep LA as-is, use their $15M in cap space to get a top-line winger and they might be as well. Kings need to get through three of: Anaheim, San Jose, Calgary, Vancouver, Vegas, and Seattle. That isn't as tough as you may think it is, with Byfield, Kupari, and Kaliyev set to make the jump next season

Reasonable value, but I don't think LA will include Bjornfot in the trade. LA is very high on him and considers him part of the future leadership group of this team.

Then they won't trade him to the kings. Quite actual Ng like he is a rental. 24 year old franchise center, would be the best forward the kings had since Gretzky

Turcotte, 1st, + + is not what I would think any team would pay for a rental. I think the Kings should make an offer, but I don't think it will be the best the Sabres will receive. Quite frankly because I don't think the Kings are as desperate at the center position with prospects including: Byfield, Turcotte, Vilardi, Thomas, Madden, JAD, Kupari, and Andersson. You have to remember if Rob Blake doesn't make the playoffs in 2021-22 he isn't on the hot seat, he's rebuilt the team and the Kings playoff window hasn't even started. The Sabres need this trade more than the Kings do.

As for being the best forward since Gretzky, Anze Kopitar is currently a lock for the hall of fame with 2 cups, 2 Selkes, 1 Byng, and a C on his chest. I never said Eichel isn't a super star but he hasn't eclipsed Kopitar yet.

Unless Calgary ends up with Eichel, Eichel has a higher ceiling then everyone mentioned UFAs-Byfield, and ive said multiple times i dont need Byfield to be happy with an LA trade

Of course, Eichel has the higher ceiling but in this scenario, the Kings still have Turcotte and Kupari at a league minimums to fill a top-6 role, and enough cap space to improve their areas of need (defense and wing). I just mean it's not the end of the world to me if the Kings are outbid for Eichel (which is probably likely).

I'm not stupid, the Kings get better in any scenario where they get Eichel, but I think you are the only Buffalo fan who is close to what I think it would be if it was with the Kings: My proposal: Turcotte, Kempe, Walker, 1st isn't too far off from yours: Turcotte, Kupari, ****emo, 1st. ( Which I think is a bit more than I'd like, I'm high on Kupari, but would live with it.).

I mean ive said a number of times- turcotte/winger/22 first and im good. But shibbal is pretty reasonable about these things too. I know he is firmly against a d coming back if it takes away from the package, and im firmly against a goalie for the same reason (knowing full well that we need two nhl goalies for next season mind you).

It's fair enough, I think the Kings will get out-muscled by the Rangers or Knights who need that #1 more than us, but I don't know if they have the centers (or are willing to part with them). If Buffalo is good wit: Turcotte, 2022 1st, active NHLer, and a prospect piece outside of Byfield, Kaliyev, and Vilardi I think it gets done from the Kings side.
