That's a big negative. Not trading Comtois unless it's for a major upgrade up front, which doesn't make a ton of sense right now anyway, as the team really isn't in a position where it makes any sense.

That’s an easy no for ANA. That’s not how you rebuild.

I dont know anything about Comtois, but i was about to say the trade was awful from Pit perspective based on player age and production the last two seasons. His production was about the same as McCann, but McCann had fewer games played, but is 2 years older. But to add Pits best D prospect, plus a goalie prospect, PLUS pit swapping the better of the picks just makes this look bonkers on paper

That's because you don't know anything about Comtois. He's superior to every forward prospect you have, plus he's exempt from the expansion draft.

Just what we need to do -- trade our best LW prospect (who's rated more highly than any forward prospect in your system) for another LW (of whom we have 5 more) who, unlike Comtois, is eligible for the expansion draft, a LD prospect to play behind Fowler and Lindholm and is unlikely to be superior to LaCombe and Thrun in two years, and a goalie prospect who is inferior to Lukas Dostal and Roman Durny.

No, thanks.

As all my fellow Ducks fans have said here Comtois doesnt get moved unless its in the super unlikely Eichel to ANA deal. Outside of that never-going-to-actually happen deal Comtois stays in SoCal

And you didnt even mention Guhle, Fleury and Mahura

(And Larsson I guess, although he should be fired into the sun)

I agree with all of that. I got a warning earlier (My 1st, and I deserved it...I appreciate the Admins here...I went a bit overboard tears of joy), so in the gentlest terms possible, Comtois is a building block, whereas nobody in that trade really is. Nothing against POJ, I just don't see him as a long term answer to our problems.
