I don't give a Shatt what you think

Created by: KPasty
Team: 2016-17 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 21, 2017
Published: Jan. 21, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
For the playoff push.

Contingent on Shattenkirk signing an extension with the Edmonton Oilers.

Edmonton gets their true #1 RHD, Desharnais as 3rd line centre and Sharp as your 2nd line Centre can also play wing. Get a good backup in Niemi. I think the values are there in all the trades.

Comment away but I really don't give a Shatt what you think lol

Montreal would do this deal in a minute.

The St. Louis deal seems pretty fair, but I don´t believe, Shatt will sign an extension with Edmonton.

Do really want to do this Dallas deal? Sharp ok, but Niemi, you might get a better and cheaper goalie at the TDL.

Although, I never quite know what a # 1 is, to some St Louis followers. Shattenkirk is the 3rd best Dman on the team. Sure he gets lots of PP points but is a liability at full strength. I don't see him enough to know what type of player he is but folks get mesmerized by point totals.
Having Sharp who is ever is winger and Desharnais at centre sure looks like it weakens the OIlers.

I see your point, however im basing value off playoff experience here, 3 Stanley Cups for Sharp, Desharnais been to the playoffs 3 of the last 4 years, including a Conference Finals appearance. There is very little playoff experience with the exception of Lucic. And i would argue that Shatt is the 2nd best Dman on the team and Bouwmeester is a little over the hill is he not? Shatt +/- is -14 and has 32 Pts while Bouw +/- is -8 and has 9 Pts. If you're Edmonton would you not be willing to concede that he may be not the greatest skater but is someone who's an excellent puck mover, has a good shot and can quarterback a powerplay? Just my opinion. The point is to give Edmonton experience and depth.

KPasty: Talking about Pietrangelo and Parayko as the top 2 Dmen, Shattenkirk third. And since Shattenkirk has gone within five months of being a UFA, doubt if signs an extension with anyone, he wants to see who is foolish enough to overpay him in July.

The Blues don't need Davidson. If it's a signed Shattenkirk then it's RNH + something.

If a deal was done for RNH I think the Blues are almost forced to add Lehtera. Otherwise the cap next year is a major issue before any players are signed.

Niemi, no way is oilers management stupid enough to pick up this deadbeats inflated contract, i hope not, fingers crossed. Niemi is expansion draft bait. Like sharp or shat but only one, i'd offer up hendricks , reinhart and a 2nd round pick for sharp and honka or bondnarchuk. For shat i'd offer the same but ask for shat and dunn from the farm.If the oilers trade away eberle they are idiots. There seems to be a disease going round that i call mcdaviditis, now that we have mcdavid we can trade away all the young goal scorers we have, it scares me, as oilers management isn't very bright to begin with, not as dumb as garth snow, but getting close.

If the Shattenkirk deal is contingent on him resigning like the OP states then Edm is adding something not the other way around.

Blues don't want Nugent-Hopkins. They didn't in the offseason, they don't now. They need a 1c, not another 2c. Especially not one with a 6 mil cap hit for the next several seasons.
