I like it but I dont love Morgan Barron on a 4th line thats mostly gritty and would rather him get top minutes in the AHL and come into the top 9 if injuries happen

Thing is, Barron's 22. It's pretty much now or never for him. It's his time

Send a 4th to LAK for Brendan Lemieux
He can fight. Well, I'd say he is willing to fight.

How about ross the boss johnston? He is very able and certainly willing to fight and throw the body.

It's not really a smart idea to make it out of this offseason with either Mika or Strome.

This line up has zero shot to win in the playoffs. Way to soft. Same top 9 won't get it done. They need a lot more grit and guys willing to do whatever it takes to win come playoff time. Our top 9 are all good players and seem like nice guys, but nice guys finish last in the NHL, so they need to make some tough choices. If they can't move Strome, they should move Chytil and get a physical 3rd line center than can win faceoffs. They should keep Kakko and Laffy with Panarin, Buchnevich and Kreider and maybe move Kravstov and get a tough gritty 3rd line RW. Beef up the the 4th line. Maybe sign Oleksiak on left D to play with Nils when he signs, and also give the team a real heavyweight that can counter a dope like Wilson. Until they get more grit, they won't win in the playoffs, assuming them get there. Look at Toronto this year. Look at the Lightning two years ago when they won the Presidents Trophy and then got swept by Columbus in the first round. Who did they go get after that? Maroon, Goodrow, Coleman and Shenn, and they won a cup. Like Cooper just said about Goodrow.....you don't need all Ferrari's, you need some ford pick up trucks.

That 4th line spot- 1.5M for someone who can fight...this is the kind of thinking which has handcuffed the team for quite some time. Fighting is way over rated...Reaves' fighting ability did nothing to slow down the Avs the other night- in fact his being a jerk only landed himself a suspension. Much better use of this lineup spot would be to allocate 2.5-3M for a grinding agitator that can get under the skin of the other team, draw penalties, play ferociously on the fore check, kill penalties, and pot a goal here and there...if he occasionally drops the gloves- then fine...but to target a guy just for this reason- no way!
