Edm leaves him open as contract negotiations go terribly wrong. Seattle drafts and signs him prior to free agency. This frees up so much room to really get a fresh look. Can really go anywhere from here and may be the best option for the team. As they have soo much trade value on defense.

Defense is not really an issue for EDM so Jones to me doesn't make sense

Id take the bet of seattle being further away from vegas than closer to what vegas did. Something like has only ever happened twice in league history and given the recency ofthe vegas situation, I doubt teams will fall for the same tricks again. Nuge is either in edmonton for max 6.1 or goes to a potential contender for 6.5+

Ya I dunno about you but I come out with some pretty good teams! There are a few situations that makes an expansion team foam at the mouth. They are going to be as awesome. Maybe not best team like vegas but I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to push for the playoffs off the bat.

You gave up way too much just to acquire Domi and Jones for a year. More silliness in trading for Kesler, thinking he helps the cap situation . You've vastly overpaid Larsson in $$$ and term.

That’s what you think. The idea is to sign Jones to make it worth it. Kesler going on LTIR would not help the cap? Or am I unaware that he is healthy to play next year?

Of course Kesler is on LTIR next season....and it doesn't help/or hurt the cap situation. Foolish to trade for a guy and hope he signs long term as a UFA. Really the chance that the Oilers can sign Jones is one in thirty two.

Oilers say no way to the CBJ trade. They're not about to give up 2 good defensive prospects when they just got their defensive prospects looking good. Bouchard and Samorukov are staying.
Huge overpay for Jones and Domi.
