I understand not liking the Leafs, and their playoff success. But what's the point of trading for non playoff players.. Patrick a 3C? Kane and his issues? Five years of Savard?

As far as a coaching change, I say Hell no. Keefe's not perfect but he's by far the best Leafs coach I've seen in my time watching hockey, not even close. Not gonna take that for granted and fire him after a year and a half.

Trades wise: I love Meier, but wouldn't touch Kane with a 10-foot pole, and as it's been alluded to, Meier has a $10m QO after he expires. I'd be willing to take a shot on Patrick, but if Rielly's going the other way it's got to be more than that. I feel like Arizona could probably get more for Kuemper, but with the ED coming up and him only having a year left, maybe not.

Incidentally, I was wondering about the Wild's expansion draft situation. What do you think happens there/who gets taken?

No worries I like the Leafs. Just saw all the Marner hate from Leaf fan base. I like Marner and figured I steal him for the Sharks. Kane is good at hockey regardless of off ice issues so I think that argument is a bit over blown. Savard is a good d man but if 5 years is too long then change the term. Reilly is mostly salary cap related, but I think Patrick just needs a change of scenery.
