I think Calgary declines. The trade is simply lacking in quality. An uncertain 23-year old project center and a bottom-6 center added with two second rounders just don't scream a top-6 C return to me.

As a DAL fan I'd need more info of White, but with a 40 point career high I dislike that contract. Think that's a no.

Also Daccord is trash. I don't see why Seattle would take him.

Oh, and welcome to CF smile

Welcome! What’s your protection list? I see most Ottawa fans leaving Dadonov unprotected which in my opinion, that would be a mistake.

My thoughts (im not roasting you)

I think you overpayed all the players except Mete

I don't think Dallas would be interested in White bc they are set at center but it's a good idea to move on from White

And I don't think Ottawa should target Monahan and shouldn't give up that much to get him

    AND WELCOME TO CAPFRIENDLY!!!

You seem like a nice guy, so I'll try to be the same.

First, I suspect Tierney will be the player taken by Seattle in the expansion draft.

Second, at the moment, Logan Brown is not regarded as a likely NHLer. He is only 22, but his development has stalled and the window is closing for his ascent to becoming an NHL regular.

Third, for all his faults, Monahan is 26 and is a very good NHLer and a pretty reasonable contract. Any conversation with CGY will have to include at least one of these names: Sanderson, Pinto, Bernard-Docker or Brannstrom. There would likely also be picks needed to round it out, but maybe Calgary would want White.

Not a fan of White. That’s honestly a bad contract if he can’t get his production back up. I think they were banking on him building on that 41 point year. And welcome 👍

A few things. I don't think Calgary or Dallas take those deals. Also Hjalmarsson is totally washed up at this point, giving him 5.1mil would be a huge mistake. Would rather target someone like Demers or Bogosian, or if they'd let Brannstrom play the right side, a guy like Jamie Oleksiak would be a great partner for him.

Daccord carried an irrelevant ASU team into contention 2 years ago, stole the net in Belleville last year and impressed in the NHL this year. Far from trash, not sure where you’re getting that from.

White is probably about 1.5m overpaid at this point. Decent player with a high floor, low ceiling. Signed the contract after a great year with Stone and Tkachuk and has had a hard time producing without them. He had a better year this season but you’re right, I doubt Dallas would be interested or be willing to pay that

One good year in college got him a NHL contract. But of his last two years with the Sens, I dunno what's been up with him but his numbers look pretty meh, especially this year, although he didn't play that much.

Personally feel like he'd be a complete waste of a pick for Seattle, given the amount of goalie options they have.

That’s music to Sens fans ears because the numbers really don’t tell the full story. There were two goalies ahead of him in the AHL his first year and he outplayed them both despite both of them already being established and having pedigree.

Now in his second year pro, his demeanour and ability to make the easy saves was a breath of fresh after Murray dropped the ball. Really think he wouldve turned more heads if he didn’t get hurt. I don’t think any Sens fans want to lose him but the fact that he is already playing in the NHL so soon and held his own when the team in front of him want great isn’t nothing

But I do agree there are better goalie options available so hopefully Seattle steers clear

Yep. Imo the most likely options to pick from Seattle are Tierney, L.Brown or Abramov. Sens won't be able to protect them all.
