Ghost is a one-dimensional player. If Duchene is traded to the Flyers, it'll be for Provorov - which is unlikely.

Just the mention of Provorov's name is laughable. Provorov will likely be a top 5 D man in the league in a couple years, which is worth 2 Duchenes.

Yeah I mean fans overvalue players because we love them but there is no way Duchene has even close to as much value as Provorov. An honest even trade would be Ghost-Duchene if we are talking value for value. I get that COL doesn't approve because he is apparently just another Tyson Barrie but that doesn't mean Ghost loses value just because Barrie is on your team. Plus I think most would argue that Duchene is a one dimensional player. I would say his defensive game is pretty bad - apart from faceoffs - but the Flyers don't need him to play defense we need a scorer. Also, Ghost is far form one dimensional. Watch a game and you will see that he constantly disrupts opponents rushes, intercepts passes in the neutral zone, carries the puck out, connects on breakouts, etc. He just gets no love for it because he is smaller than a guy you would consider a "real" defensemen.

I dont disagree that Provorov could be one of the top Dmen in the league in a few years....but thats just it, he COULD BE, he isnt. I would never move him if he was the flyers but its always interesting how much teams but stock in Potential when making a trade. 2 Duchenes is a bit crazy, but I hear what you are saying provo to the flyers is worth than most teams would be willing to give up, but Duchenes damn good and one of the Top Cs in the game...hes going to get something of substance back if he is moved

I don't think you can call him a top C when outside of 1 year he hasn't topped 60 points.

60 point plus is rare in this league now. He's better defensively than people think and pretty damn solid good at the face off dot. With his speed, yes I do consider him a top end C. He's not a second line center. This year the Avs are such a dumpster fire so no one is going to have glamours stat lines.

However over the past 3 years he is something like the 15th more scoring C in the league. And tahts where I see Dutchy stacked up as a C in this league, around the 15-20th mark currently, Unless he brings up his scoring again (which he eventually will) that position cold slide even more in this league with the new young Cs coming up every season

it's hard to gauge Duchene's value, cause he's been surrounded by garbage his entire career. the avs are literally AHL quality right now. but i think he's gonna light it up if he gets moved to a team that can give him some solid wingers.
