Only way to ensure that the Clarke brothers play in Vancouver, Brandt won't be there at 9

I could see him falling to 9

It's possible, this is definitely an odd draft year but I don't see him going past San Jose they really need defense.
Luke will end up with NJD so I'd make sure that we have the next, next best brother duo

This would have to be a draft day trade. Detroit needs a centre more than they need a goalie so if Eklund or Beniers is still there at #6 they will keep their pick and select one of them. If they're both gone a trade like this is an option to consider.

Yeah have to make sure that Clarke is there at 6 else don't need to make the move. I see Beniers and Eklund going 2nd and 3rd or 5th overall, at 9 there will be beside Wallstedt either Kent Johnson, Mason McTavish and Chaz Lucius all good C as well

Nobody knows how the picks will fall this draft. If Eklund and/or Beniers is still there at #6 there's no way Detroit trades down. A trade like this cannot be made before the first 5 picks have been made.

In this draft

But

Depending on the specific spot

If I'm at 12 I might do that to go up to 9

It's actually almost perfect value. Moving from 9 to 6 is worth the 43rd pick but 41 is close enough that the difference is negligible.

Another way get brothers together, send the 1st to NJD for taking Ericsson. Then we draft Hughes and Clarke.

After that, we’ll just have to find Quinn’s path to New Jersey.

If Clarke is there at 6 I wouldn’t trade that pick unless a 2022 1st round pick was involved which would be an overpay.

All three of those prospects (Johnson, McTavish, Lucious) project as wingers in the NHL. McTavish has the best odds at sticking but even then his game is better suited as a winger.

That’s a massive overpay to take on Eriksson.

Depends who's available for Detroit at the 6th pick, I can see Detroit 100% taking Clarke depending on who else is available.

Why Clarke? I though Edvinsson or Wallstedt would be better fits

You can't have enough RD as they come as a premium, Plus if need be we could use Hronek as a main piece to upgrade our LD. If we were to draft Clarke Edvinsson makes more sense he's the perfect partner for Seider. But i've a feeling that Edvinsson goes top 5 before Clarke but i could be wrong.

Yeah I was thinking Edvinsson makes the most sense. Seems like a Yzerman pick. Where do you think he's going in the top 5 because I don't think there's a chance he goes in the top 5

He probably wont, I can see it going something like this #! Buffalo Owen Power #2 Seattle Matthew Beniers #3 Anaheim Dylan Guenther #4 New Jersey Luke Hughes #5 Columbus William Eklund #6 Detroit Simon Edvinsson i could see it playing out like that. Though i've seen some drafts on here having both Clarke and Edvinsson in the top 5 4 Dmen in the top 5 don't think that's even remotely realistic

Yeah I have the same top 5. Maybe Clarke goes 5 to Columbus once Jones gets dealt. I've seen a couple of mocks having Edvinsson at 3 which I don't agree with at all

I can see that, Clarke would be the perfect RD replacement when Seth jones leaves. Plus they do need Center help as well. I can see Columbus taking either Clarke or Eklund. We will know come July the 23rd.

McKenzie had Edvinsson ranked 2 in April. All of the top defensemen seem like Yzerman picks to be honest. Yzerman has always preached BPA and if Clarke is that then him being right handed shouldn’t matter especially considering Hronek isn’t the best PP QB and Clarke looks like the best option to fill that role out of the top 4 defensemen. Additionally, both Seider and Hronek played their off side.
