Svechnikov will be extended and start on the 3rd line next season. Detroit is not giving up on him yet.

Sorry I thought they gave up on him when they put him on waivers.

Glendenning wins draws 60.9% vs 47.5%
We just need him to win D zone faceoffs and got off the ice.
I think oilers in D zone are under 45%

Easier said than done. What happens to the 40% of draws he loses? You will be forced to watch him try to play hockey for a minute since he always gets hemmed into his own zone
Faceoffs are not that important, just sign some players who are actually good defensively like Riley Nash, Casey Cizikas, Derek Ryan or Tyler Bozak

Bozak actually wins a lot of faceoffs, he is a massive upgrade over Glendening

You don't pay a guy $2M for FOGO work though. I'd rather have Bellemare and it's not close.

Also, I'd take Nuge over Hyman 7 days a week too - Hyman is largely a product of playing with superstar linemates. Oilers fans think the Kassian contract was bad and then turn around and pay Hyman nearly double... SMH.

Yah not sure what is going to happen with Nuge, by the sounds of things he will get paid 7 million per year and a 7 year contract. If I am the oilers I am not offering or paying that price. So that point is moot. If he is looking 6$ by 4 or 5. Perfect. Detroit, Seattle, Buffalo ect can unload the brinks truck.

I am not sure if the avs let Bellemare leave. He is very important ot them and kills a ton of penalties. Big part of that team.

That was this season when there was no open spot for him.

This offseason there are several old veterans leaving and Detroit will have 9 waiver eligible wingers on the roster next season. Svechnikov will be given a chance to prove himself, if he doesn't make it he'll be swapped for another reclamation project after Christmas sometime.

I agree they had to make room and Svech was the low man on the totem pole.

Where are you hearing that? All the scuttlebutt is much lower, most of the media analysts are around the $6M mark.

Well what are you offering as a GM to keep Nuge. What is your top $ and term?

If he's holding out for $7 or 8M then yes, I'd walk away and spend the money elsewhere. But I think $5.5M on Hyman isn't a good way to spend that money, Nuge is a much better player so I'd rather him at (say) $6.25M.

Well media said Hyman is going to asking for around 6 million. So 5.5 might not get that done either. Time will tell.
