I actually agree with you and have a lot of faith in the young guys. I loved Jones’s game in his short stint with the Rangers. Voted one of top players for team USA at the worlds. He can play right side as well. Just seems from what I read they want a good vet especially if it’s playoffs or bust this year

For d they have to protect Girard, Makar and Johnson bc of his nmc correct? Have they said anything about him being willing to waive it to keep the team intact? If not and they go 4d/4f protection it exposes a lot of forwards and Graves. They’d be smart to swing at least one deal pre draft

EJ will waive or be bought out. Hes been injured all year and the team rule is that injured players can not talk to the media or will be made available. So no one has been able to ask him straight up but all signs have pointed to him waiving

The expansion draft didnt just pop up, sakic and co knew the rules when they trade for and extended Toews, they had a plan in place to protect him from Day 1.

they will not do any pre draft deals bc it doesnt help them. They trade Graves "bc they dont want to lose him for nothing" now they trade graves for draft picks and they lose donskoi. SO now they have 2 good players off the roster and nothing to show for it. Just let Seattle take their 1 guy...if its graves its graves and the team can move on.
