Oh buddy, brace for the firestorm (well, snowstorm).

Buffalo fans have a wildly inflated sense of what Eichel is worth. While I do think he is worth somewhat more than you've offered, I suspect the number of teams bidding for his services will be limited by his oversized contract and, perhaps, his oversized ego. In six years, Eichel has proven absolutely nothing beyond his ability to put his own interests ahead of those of the team. So, given the limited marketplace, I suspect Buffalo fans are going to be offended by every genuine offer they receive.

Welcome to CapFriendly! Sometimes it's not too friendly.

You have to understand that what you think is realistic for Jack Eichel and what Buffalo fans think is the right price for him, without context, is a universe apart. (Most of them want the equivalent of five or six first-round values for him, counting top-3 draft picks and guys like LaFreniere or Zegras as significantly more than one first-round pick, which they don't.)

Personally, I think that any GM making a trade for Eichel before the 2021 draft, which is before he's even received medical treatment for his season-ending injury, and so by definition before having seen whether he's made a complete recovery from it, is committing malpractice.

His oversized contact? In 121 games since making 10 million dollars he has 168 points. It’s comical how people judge him being slightly under a PPG this year playing though broken ribs, sprained ankle and and a neck injury. Also blaming Eichel for the reason the sabres are bad is also a horrible take.

Constructive criticism on the Avs trade. Quick isn’t the goalie he was and with his contract you aren’t likely to get anything of value for him, in fact you probably have to give something if you want to move him. COL has a lot of guys to sign and they aren’t bringing on a contract like Quick’s to be a back up. This is an easy for Avalanche.

Sorry pal, but with the big dollars comes big expectations. True stars make everyone around them better. In six years, there's no sign of that being the case. Eichel is empty calories.

? Jeff skinner played with him in 18-19 and had 40 goals. Without him 21 in 2 years. He turned a 7th round rookie last year in a 20 goal scorer last season. So I would say he makes his linemates better. And that’s with playing with Ristolainen who is always on the ice with him, a bottom 5 defenseman in this league. Another bad take.

No real interest in that JAD trade. We don't really need depth center prospects (we've got a lot already) and there's a suspicion that Bemstrom could still be something special.
