Oh for sure, but you are a top contender for the cup for two years. Deal with it after, hope the cap goes up or if you have to, move a high end player. And in two years a few contracts come off the books and younger players hopefully move up. Like I said in the description though, total long shot.

Looking back at some similar trades and that's more than most trades with players of somewhat similar value. Eichel I would say is better than most of those players but also signed for more money. I wouldn't be opposed to throwing in maybe one more late round pick or another B rated prospect. Just what I've read and looked at past trades I think it's good value.

Most realistic Eichel trade I've seen lately except for the fact that the Pegulas won't retain $20,000 let alone $2 million. I like the implication that a canny GM like Joe Sakic wouldn't make an Eichel trade until seeing him play at least 20 games next season, hence the absence of a 2021 draft pick in the deal.

I would agree with you about Pegulas, but you never know, I think the second first round pick would become a second in that case.

how many times do we have to go over this on this site....Eichel doesnt fit int he Avs cap structure, it doesnt work. Just take a look at the mess that in the long term outlook during the MacKinnon extension offseason

32m in cap space with only 7 players signed....so 32m to Extend MacKinnon, Byram, Jost, and Timmins and fill out the rest of the roster with 12 other guys. You can not add Eichel without sacrificing top talent off the roster to make room for him.

If you don't like seeing Eichel to Colorado trades, then don't look at them, Burakovsky was just a casualty of the trade, it doesn't matter what the return is for him. Critiquing it that much when the description straight up says total long shot just would be cool to see is just dumb.

Its beyond a total long shot, the math doesnt work and no Avs fan is goign to tear down their roster to make room for Eichel.

and if you make bad trades, fans of that team can comment on them all they want to let you know that its a bad trade. Just like how you are not allowed to tell people not to post rosters, you cant tell people not to comment on them
