Mangiapane and Pavelski are 100% being protected, your draft consideration values are way off

NYR is 100 buying ADA out this summer, why would they pay anything Seattle to take him?

for both Mangiapane and Pavelski, teams need 2 forwards signed for 21-22 who have played at least 41 games this season or 70 over the last 2 to be eligible for the expansion draft. Although i'm sure they would love to keep them both, I don't see anybody else these teams could let go that would make sense.

For NYR, buying out ADA would mean having a part of his cap for the next 3 or 4 seasons. So instead of having that weighing them down, they are basically dumping his contract via the draft expansion and they give up a 1st. Seems pretty fair to me.

Also, I only used picks and not prospects cause they are way too polarizing. Some think they're gonna be the next big thing, some think they're horrendous. So I took the easy route and only traded picks. Are the trades off? maybe, but it's easily fixable, switch 2nds for 3rds and 1sts for a 2nd and a 3rd/ 4th and you're good, doesn't change much.

For the exposure requirements Faksa also fits the bill. My idea is that they left him unprotected and Pavs protected.

An expansion draft like this would be very hard for Seattle to pull off, it would take some serious luck and negotiation for some of these packages to protect certain players that I don't think will happen. That being said, this is a very competitive team right off the bat, but lacks young talent to build on for the next few years. What Vegas did incredibly well was bring in young players with something to prove, secure draft and prospect capital. This setup doesn't really do that for Seattle. They would make the playoffs for the first year, maybe 2nd, then drastically fall off.

For Johnsson, you're not paying to get rid of him, you're paying to protect Zacha. I had to either leave Zacha, Bratt or Wood and for all 3 they'd rather keep them

For Mangiapane, it's either him, Matthew Tkachuk, Monahan or Gaudreau that they let go. Seems pretty obvious. For Vatrano, you can swap him with Wallmark, whoever is left unprotected, won't change much. For Rust, I do agree I overlooked him in the protection so instead the Kraken would select Teddy Blueger/ZAR, whoever of the 2 is free.

    Devils are protecting Zacha 100%

This would be the protection list
F: Hischier, Zacha, Bratt, Wood, Sharangovich, Kuokkanen, McLeod
    D: Severson, Subban, Siegenthaler
    G: Blackwood

unless the Devils sign either Merkley or Bastian to a deal before the expansion draft, the Devils do not meet the requirements of forward exposure. they wish they could keep Zacha, Bratt or Wood but for now with the contracts they have, 1 has to be left unprotected and then they trade to protect the one who is left unprotected. Go check on the expansion draft tool in here, you'll see there's a little 2/2 1/1 etc besides the team and that's what it is about.

made some changes to the team to make it younger cause I do agree i thought too much about being competitive now and draft but not the rest. To explain some of the draft compensations, Carolina was to protect Bean and Fast who I think would both be taken before Gardiner. For Minnesota it's to protect Dumba, which I thought I was already unpaying but again, picks can be swapped. As I've said before Devils is to protect whoever is free between Bratt, Wood or Zacha. NYR is really to get rid of DeAngelo's contract and I think Seattle jump on that offer cause he's still a damn good hockey player if he can shut his mouth about politics. Tampa is to free up cap space with both gone and go sign other players instead. Toronto is to protect Holl. Winnipeg is to protect Lowry
